KRISHNANAGAR CITY CENTRE

Krishnanagar, the major district centre of Nadia, West Bengal, boasts a rich century-old cultural, artistic, and linguistic heritage. Surrounded by rural areas renowned for their flourishing handloom, handmade garments, pottery, and artifacts, the region is a hub of traditional craftsmanship.

In a recent initiative by the state government, a commercial centre has been envisioned to architecturally relate to the district’s cultural legacy. This development aims to facilitate local handicrafts and handloom industries by providing modern facilities, including cafeterias, display centres, commercial shops, seminar halls and a public plaza with quality ambiance. The project seeks to promote sustainable economic growth while preserving and celebrating Nadia’s rich artisanal heritage.
